Atlanta, GA – February 4th, 2025 – Flying Banzai, the Atlanta-based film production company known for delivering gripping and imaginative horror films, is thrilled to announce work is underway on its next feature film, “Bloodletting" based on a book by author J.R. Curtis.
Scott B. Hansen (Bad Candy, The Forest Hills, Devour) serves as Executive Producer along with Ryan Shelor & Cayman Eby.
Flying Banzai will once again be working with Atlanta studio, Digital Thunderdome, transporting audiences to the unforgiving frontier wilderness of the late 1800s, where survival pits man against nature, the supernatural, and their own darkest impulses.
“Bloodletting” follows the harrowing journey of three frontiersmen who set out to seek aid at a desolate Army fort after their handcart company becomes stranded and stricken by disease. Harassed on the journey by bandits and a mysterious native, the youngest companion becomes critically injured and a dark and primal creature begins to hunt and torment them. As the group comes to find the fort abandoned and the land cursed by forces both natural and supernatural, the once hopeful shelter becomes a maddening prison. As time passes and they slowly begin to starve, the growing fear and hunger drives them against each other, the worst of their own human natures are realized, and they begin to change…
The film promises to blend the stark tension of the frontier with the chilling atmosphere of psychological and supernatural horror, delivering an unforgettable cinematic experience.
Bloodletting is a bold step forward for Flying Banzai as we continue to explore the boundaries of horror and storytelling,” said Cayman Eby, Producer. “We’re excited to bring audiences a story that’s as deeply emotional as it is terrifying, and to highlight the beauty and brutality of the frontier as a setting for fear.”
Building on the success of Flying Banzai’s last project with Digital Thunderdome, “Devour,” which releases worldwide in theaters Fall of 2025, the companies are poised to deliver another standout feature, with the project already receiving interest from distributors at AFM and continuing to pitch at EFM at Berlinale. The project is currently casting as its initial round of fundraising comes to a close and principal photography is set to begin this spring.
Flying Banzai offers a full suite of production services, including creative development, budgeting, scheduling, and physical production management, ensuring high-quality results for every project. Digital Thunderdome offers production and post services, local crew, equipment and a 30,000 square foot sound stage with over 38 standing sets.
